Eastern Bride Rites

Eastern ceremony ceremonies are full of rich culture and traditions. From intricate meals to beautiful hand- drawn henna designs on the bride’s hands and feet, to the symbolic lighting of a sacred fire and tying of the couple together with silk ribbons, each detail is considered to be metaphorical and important for the marriage vietnamese women.

Countless newlyweds demand a fortune teller or a Chinese monk to help them choose an auspicious time for their bride. They also seek out the advice of their elders and ask them to confer their gifts on the union.

Friends usually offer presents to the bride and groom at the festival. The couple’s home usually offers a scented handkerchief to the bride, and the couple’s parents give the pair decorated stems of Sakaki ( a sacred branch used in worship of angels). There is no best man or giving ahead of the wife in a Shinto ceremony meeting and a few comments are spoken by the preacher before the meeting concludes with the partners offering the stems of Sakaki together.

In Indian marriage festivities, the wife wears a lehenga which is a lengthy piece of fabric draped around the brain and embellished with elaborate embroidery. The man wears a kurta which is a longer layer- like garment. At the festival, friends pour holy water from their clam shells over the couple’s joined hands to thank them and provide their best wishes. During the reception, there are usually bear performers which are believed to ward off evil spirits.
